Frequently asked questions

Here are some answers to popular questions about our brand and products. Looking to get in touch or have other questions not listed? Contact us here

Our Brand

  • We are a slow fashion  business, focusing our efforts on designing and making pieces to last through the years. We currently do two drops a year, elevated wardrobe staples at the ready for the start of Autumn and then again at the start of Spring.

  • Having a business that is run sustainably and ethically is super important here at Cubs Closet. We make every endeavour to operate as transparently ethical and sustainable as we can afford to. As our brand grows we look forward to really driving these two points as pillars of our business.

  • Yes! I proudly design all of our products myself. I take my own frustrations in dressing my children and make the products I want to see and wish I had access to since I became a mum.

  • Of course we do! Pop your email down for our newsletter to be first in the know when our most popular styles land back in our store.

Returns & Refunds

  • We do! There is nothing like taking a gamble with online shopping, even more so with little people. Our sizes tend to run true to size (If you're child is three, they will fit a three etc) but if you’re after something different, flick us an email within 14 days of receiving your order and we can get the process started for you. Items must be unworn, unwashed, and in original condition with tags attached to be eligible for return.

  • Our return period is 14 days from when you receive the order.

  • You are responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to us. If we are exchanging something for you and your original order qualified for free shipping only the return cost is incurred by you. We would love to grow to a size where we can offer free shipping across the board but unfortunately we aren’t quite there yet.

  • We do our best to work quickly and efficiently. It usually takes 3-5 business days for your return to hit your bank account. Please reach out if it's lost!

Fabric & certifications

  • GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard — it is the world's leading certification for organic textiles. It means the cotton is certified organic from the farm all the way through to the finished garment, with strict standards on chemical use, working conditions, and environmental impact. Our tees are made from GOTS certified organic cotton.

  • OEKO-TEX is an independent certification that tests fabrics against 100+ harmful substances — including pesticides, heavy metals, and formaldehyde. If a fabric carries the OEKO-TEX Standard 100 label, it has been tested and confirmed safe for skin contact, including for babies and children. Our bottoms (shorts and bike shorts) are made from OEKO-TEX certified fabric.

  • Great question — and we appreciate you asking. We are big on transparency here. GOTS certified organic cotton is our first preference, but the fabric costs more to produce and we are committed to keeping Cubs Closet accessible and affordable. Our minimum standard for every product is OEKO-TEX certified — so you can trust that nothing harmful is touching your child's skin, ever. Where we can afford to choose GOTS, we do. All of our tees are GOTS certified.

  • Yes — all our garments are pre-washed and pre-shrunk before sizing. What you order is what you keep. Follow the care instructions on the label (cold wash, low heat or line dry) and your Cubs Closet pieces will hold their shape and colour wash after wash.

Shipping & Delivery

  • We do our very best to have all orders picked and ready for shipping within the first 24 hours. Then it is usually straight to the post office after that.

  • We have a standard shipping rate of $10 for regular post and then $15 for express shipping.

  • There is! Our free shipping threshold is $100. Once you hit that in your cart, free shipping will automatically kick in.

  • Not at this stage. We are a baby business and so while we are growing we only ship in Australia.
