Welcome to The Cubs Corner

Hi, I'm Nic. Mum of three, founder of Cubs Closet, and apparently now a blogger.

I'll be honest, I resisted starting a blog for a while. It felt like one more thing to do, and I already have three children and a small business, so my capacity for "one more thing" is pretty limited. But I kept finding myself wanting a place to talk about the stuff that doesn't fit neatly on a product page or feels too long for an Instagram caption.

Things like: what does GOTS certification actually mean, in plain English? How do you get a three-year-old dressed without losing your mind? What does ethical manufacturing really look like behind the scenes? What's it like to build a brand while also trying to remember to defrost something for dinner? What are the inner musings of my mind in this moment?

That's what The Cubs Corner is for.

What you'll find here

We'll be writing across four areas that reflect what we care about most at Cubs Closet:

Sustainability: honest conversations about fabrics, certifications, fast fashion, and how to make better choices without making it a full-time job.

Style Tips: practical, real-life ideas for dressing your kids well. Not aspirational, not styled-within-an-inch-of-its-life. Actual outfit combinations that work on actual mornings.

Parenting: the stuff that surrounds the clothes. Getting-dressed battles. Hand-me-down systems. The mental load. Talking to kids about where things come from. The things we're all navigating together.

Behind the Brand: the honest version of what building Cubs Closet looks like. The decisions, the process, the things that have surprised me, and where we're headed.

I'm going to write this the way I talk. Which means sometimes sentences won't be perfectly constructed, opinions will be stated plainly, and the occasional thing will be funnier than it probably needed to be. I hope that's okay with you.

If there's something you'd like us to cover, a question you keep having, a topic you'd find useful then please let me know. This space is for you as much as it is for us.

Welcome. I'm glad you're here.

P.S. If you haven't already, take a look at the range. That's where this whole thing started.
